Wyong Leagues Club Launches Wyong Roos Foundation with $30K Donation!
At the end of 2017 Wyong Rugby League Club groupproudly launched the Wyong Roos Foundation with a massive $30,000 donation to worthy Central Coast charity. WRLCG Chairman Kevin Pearce, explained that for some time they had been looking to launch a charitable arm above and beyond legislative requirements. “We have been searching the local area for suitable charities, our criteria being that they are local, have little or no administration costs or overheads and are transparent in terms of auditing and reconciliation of disbursements” he said. A chance meeting at a fundraiser left CEO Michael Coghlan impressed by the work Central Coast Kids in Need do, their passion and their drive. Following this meeting CCKIN presented to the Wyong Roos committee and shared the ins and outs of their work. It was obvious that they were a worthy recipient and Wyong Roos Foundation pledged a $30,000 donation to the Central Coast Kids in Need so they can continue their great work. Central Coast Kids in Need helps Central Coast families of seriously ill children who have to travel to Newcastle or Sydney for treatment, CCKIN covers their transport, accommodation and other costs. CCKIN supports local families like the Metcalfe’s whosedaughter Olive, (pictured) was born with spina bifida and Louis,(now a volunteer) who CCKIN purchased a diabetes pump for many years ago. WRLCG are so proud to have launched the Wyong Roos Foundation and they look forward to sharing with you their projects upon completion.
